Domaine Prieuré-Roch Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2005

From the Shadow of DRC

Domaine Prieuré-Roch Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2005 · Burgundy, France · tasted 30 June 2026

Henry-Frédéric Roch co-directed DRC for thirty years and always stood at the back of the photograph. This is the wine he made under his own name — whole-bunch, near-zero sulphur Clos de Bèze, from a 2005 only now beginning to open.

Five Hectares Behind a Wall

Domaine Prieuré-Roch Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Le Clos des Corvées 2011 (Monopole) · Burgundy, France · tasted 16 July 2021

Le Clos des Corvées is a walled five-hectare monopole at the Prémeaux end of Nuits-Saint-Georges, farmed by Henry-Frédéric Roch with whole bunches, wild yeast and almost no sulphur. The 2011 — an early, cool, uneven year — at ten, from a label that carries a pictogram and nothing else.
